LCV NORTHCOM NTC: Ammunition Trades HelperBelong Connect Grow with KBR!
As part of the LOGCAP NORTHCOM scope KBR provides rapid response support to scheduled and unscheduled U.S. Army training exercises. KBRs LOGCAP team successfully completed another year of support to Warfighter operations by providing typical LOGCAP services at two locations.
The Ammunition Trades Helper directly assists the Ammunition Handler in support of Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) operations. This role involves handling inspecting and processing ammunition and related materials under the supervision of a certified ammunition handler. The position requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards and may involve operating vehicles and equipment performing inspections and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist the Ammo Handler in the receipt turn-in storage and issue of ammunition components and related materials.
Support cleaning checking and repacking of ammunition during unit turn-ins.
Operate vehicles and forklifts (up to 6K) and other equipment as required.
Load and offload explosives-laden vehicles.
Assist in 100% inspection of all returned residue to ensure it is explosive-free.
Observe explosive safety and physical security policies and procedures.
Maintain strict key control procedures.
Process issues and turn-ins in accordance with established procedures.
Police the ASP including the fence line inside and out.
Perform daily PMCS on all government-furnished and/or leased equipment.
Participate in the company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA program.
Attend assigned training sessions.
Comply with all company rules policies procedures safety environmental and quality standards.
Ensure accountability and proper care of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) / Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE).
Interact favorably with internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be required to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the project.
May be required to work on uncommon hours extended hours nights weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be able to complete Ammo 45 and 68 certifications within 45 days of assignment (Ammo 68 is an annual refresher).
Understanding of ammunition and hazardous material handling per regulatory requirements.
Ability to understand U.S. Army and DOD ammunition regulations.
Strong customer service skills.
Proficient in verbal and written communication.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft
Prior military and/or contingency operations experience.
Prior service as an MOS 89B (Ammunition Specialist) or similar military specialty code.
Completion of AMMO 62 course and certification for HAZDEC shipping.
Advanced knowledge of military ASP operations (U.S. Army preferred).
Licensed forklift operator (4K to 6K).
Knowledge of pallet building including 463L for ammunition shipment.
HAZMAT certification.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Basic Compensation: $29.06 per hour
