Job Description: Dishwasher
Location: Spartanburg SC 29301
Job Summary:
The Dishwasher ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes utensils and kitchen equipment used in food preparation and service.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
- Ensures that all dishes are cleaned and put away in proper locations.
- Empty dish machine and clean out the inside when dishwater becomes dirty.
- Keeps walls clean and mildew free.
- Check chemical supply and alert management of any excessive or needs for more.
- Breaks down dish machine once a day to ensure it stays operational.
- Ensures that the dish room floor stays clean and dry throughout the shift.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Knowledge of basic dish machine mechanics.
- Understanding of proper sanitation techniques and procedures to ensure that dishes utensils and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
- Must have the skills to work well with others.
- Proficiency in operating commercial dishwashing machines including loading and unloading dishes adjusting settings and troubleshooting minor issues to maintain efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized environment.
Working Conditions:
- May work long irregular hours that include weeknights weekends and holidays.
- Must stand for extended periods.
- Are often exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
- Occasionally work near contaminants and hazardous equipment.
- Often work in a noisy and distracting environment.
Required Physical Abilities:
Physical demands of this position include repetitive movements bending twisting reaching overhead and carrying weighted materials up to 50 lbs. Must be able to handle control or feel objects tools or controls.
