Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manages inventory distribution and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms for varsity teams.
Ensures proper fitting sanitation and safety compliance of all gear and equipment.
Coordinates laundry and repair schedules to maintain timely access to clean and functional equipment.
Tracks inventory levels and reorders supplies and uniforms in collaboration with coaching staff and administration.
Prepares equipment and apparel for practices games and special events.
Supports team travel logistics by organizing and transporting necessary gear and uniforms.
Maintains organization of equipment rooms lockers and storage facilities.
Assists with game-day and practice set-up and breakdown for home and away events as needed.
Implements and monitors safety protocols and industry best practices in equipment handling.
Provides excellent customer service to student-athletes coaches and staff.
Maintains detailed records of equipment issued and returned including loss/damage reports.
Supports department-wide initiatives that enhance student-athlete experience and co-curricular programming.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
13 years of experience in athletic equipment management or similar logistical/operations role.
Valid California Class C drivers license with a good driving record.
Ability to work evenings weekends and travel as required.
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Sports Management Kinesiology or related field.
Experience working in collegiate or high school athletic programs.
Certification through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
Knowledge of athletic equipment standards safety protocols and sport-specific needs.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
Attention to detail and accountability in recordkeeping and inventory control.
Commitment to providing inclusive and equitable support to diverse student populations.
Familiarity with NCAA and conference equipment and safety guidelines.
Working Conditions:
Frequent work in athletic facilities locker rooms and outdoor practice or competition settings. May include travel and exposure to varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift carry and move equipment up to 50 lbs. Regular standing bending reaching and climbing stairs or bleachers. Occasional extended hours required for events and travel.
