This includes manipulating the financial communication fear distrust misdiagnosis and emotional barriers experienced by women. The navigator works collaboratively with physicians ancillary services and community agencies. The navigator is a health educator and is a respected resource in the healthcare community for Womens Health issues.
Day Shift Monday -Friday
Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required:
Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Maryland.
Must have 3 - 5 years of clinical experience in Womens Health Care practicing as a registered nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. Certification in professional association such as AWHONN preferred. Current CPR Certification required.
Project development and project management experience required. Public speaking experience.
Bachelors degree in Nursing. Masters preferred.
Able to assess and care for patients with special needs with respect to cultural ethical and religious differences and physical abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Functional computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to employee and patient information.
Working knowledge of Womens Health care issues and preventative care.
Essential Functions:
Assists patients through the treatment experience through the establishment of a working professional relationship with the patient and significant others.
Identifies and eliminates barriers to care.
Ensures timely delivery of services.
Collaborates with physicians and ancillary staff as required to meet patient needs.
Improves patient satisfaction.
Provides education and support to patient and significant others.
Provides support to women in various stages of the health care system.
Connects patients to screening and follows patients post screening.
Connects patients to relevant community resources and support networks.
Maintains appropriate intake and ongoing patient documentation.
Participates in program strategic planning.
Creates and maintains statistical reports for analyzing program productivity.
Functions as case manager for appropriate patients.
Viewed as a clinical leader in the organization.
Maintains patient confidentiality. Completes all paperwork with accuracy and completeness.
Possesses the necessary computer skills to effectively document patient care and manages projects.
Knows and demonstrates proper safety practices related to standards and nursing practice. Provides for universal precautions and aseptic technique in provision of patient care.
Assumes responsibility for promoting a team spirit within the department.
Functions as a resource to other FH departments regarding care requirements for women.
Models positive interpersonal skills for co-workers with one another and patients.
Organizes community awareness activities for prevention and disease detection.
Organizes and actively participates in community related activities such as Heart Disease Awareness Breast and Ovarian Cancer and other symposiums related to Womens Health.
Actively participates in project teams task forces and committee assignments as needed.
Offers ideas and suggestions on improving patient services for women. Works well with department staff FH department staff patients and physicians.
Develops Quality Analysis tools for Womens Health programs. Provides Community Awareness and access to health screening for women in our region; utilizing Health Fairs and other activities.

Pay is based on experience skills and education. If position is part-time salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid if applicable.
Pay range: $32.69 to $49.78
Full-Time
