Quality Laboratory Assistant (Rotating Night Shift) Sofidel America a leading manufacturer of tissue products is committed to sustainability innovation and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a Quality Laboratory Assistant to join our team at our 2060 51st Ave Phoenix AZ 85043 facility. Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for testing raw materials finished products & competitor products to determine conformance to material specifications batch release products and raise non-conformances in accordance with established procedures. - Test raw materials against established specifications.
- Test finished products against established specifications.
- Release or reject raw materials based on specified requirements.
- Operate the quality testing equipment needed to perform the job.
- All test findings should be entered into SAP and other established data collection software.
- Report results of raw material and finished product testing to relevant personnel
- Assist employees and temporary workers to identify and report quality issues.
- Process non-conforming raw materials and finished product and communicate to relevant personnel according to established procedures.
- Test competing products in accordance with accepted methods and enter data into SAP software.
- Carry out routine internal calibration procedures as required.
- Utilize all new testing procedures and lab equipment during training.
- Serve as a representative for the quality team educating others about the value of quality and serving as an example of professionalism.
- Work with and encourage a team environment where the common good of the customer is served by production quality sales logistics and customer service.
- Act as a deputy for the Quality Manager in their absence as required.
- Cover colleague absence/vacation on an overtime basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office SAP Statistical software etc. are required.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions as well as quality and procedural manuals.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and procedures is highly preferred.
