What You Will Do

  • Responsible for providing legal advice and counsel on a range of legal issues including compliance related to Global Trade Finance HR and other regulatory compliance areas primarily for Pratt & Whitney (PW)s businesses in India. This role will also provide legal counsel and support for supply chain company secretarial compliance Global trade corporate governance contracts real estate compliance and other legal and Government matters

Roles & Responsibilities :

Legal

  • Draft and review day to day and transactional contracts pertaining to PW businesses in India region
  • Work with senior management and other functional groups to identify and manage legal risks and issues for PWs businesses in India region
  • Custodian of all Compliance and Regulatory matters pertaining to the PW India Business and Entities
  • Provide local law interpretation and be a point of contact for local legal and regulatory issues
  • Provide strong support to work closely with and provide regular briefings to PW Global Legal team
  • Build strong relationships with and support stakeholders in PW India and PW commercial operations supply chain compliance and HR teams
  • Maintain an up-to-date date knowledge of developments in relevant areas of law
  • Instruct and manage external counsel in a cost-effective manner
  • Deliver relevant legal training programs

  • Maintain contract database as well as template documents creating appropriate guidance notes and ensuring that the responses are appropriate
  • Where required and in coordination with PW counsel and external counsel assist in representing PW India Entity in the Courts or All Legal matters
  • Partner with PW Legal Contracts & Compliance department in the United States and other countries
  • Provide legal support to other regional requirements as and when required
  • Global Trade
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on Global Trade (GT) issues specifically interpretation and execution of GT regulations and standard work for all the businesses in India
  • General Compliance and HR Compliance

  • Provide support and guidance in connection with data privacy compliance issues in India region
  • Support responding to HR Legal matters of the company in Labour and other HR compliance related matters
  • Support legal & government regulatory compliance monitoring activities (including audits and self-evaluations as may be conducted by RTX or PW)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Have Indian citizenship
  • Permitted to Live and Work in India
  • Education & Experience Law Degree and Company Secretary Pass with 10 years in relevant legal Global Trade; HR; General contracts and compliance capacity.
  • Should be capable of handling and dealing with various regulatory authorities in India
  • Should be capable of handling compliance and contracts independently
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning and evaluation abilities
  • Strong drafting abilities and excellent command of the English language
  • An analytical mind able to see the legal complexities of the business
  • Mature with good business acumen and positive attitude
  • Experience navigating a highly matrixed international organization
  • Ability to influence actions decisions and to drive change
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a highly matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business partners at all levels through the organization.
  • Excellent written verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Aerospace and Defense industry background preferred but not necessary
  • Skills:

  • Corporate law contract law employment law data privacy regulatory compliance (e.g. securities industry-specific regulations) and increasingly global trade.
  • Contract Drafting Review & Negotiation Risk Identification & Mitigation Regulatory Compliance & Corporate Governance

Optional Qualifications

Certifications:

  • ACC In-house Counsel Certification Program
  • Legal Project Practitioner (LPP)

Pratt & Whitney is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportations Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines.
