Job Description

2nd Shift Kitchen Lead

Job Summary: Our mission as a Kitchen Bakery and Company is to positively impact people in our community both those we work alongside and those who visit our shops. We hope to find other Bakery Sales team members who share our vision and passion for pastries. This individual is invested in their work has the desire to learn ability to function well on a team and incorporates a flexible mindset.

This role requires effective time management skills strong leadership qualities and the ability to plan for/guide a small Kitchen team efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Train and mentor the Kitchen staff under the supervision of the Kitchen Production Manager.
  • Assist the Kitchen Production manager in various ways
  • Assist in the delegation of tasks/operations to team members.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of management.
  • Communicate on-shift issues to the Kitchen production manager.
  • Lead and/ or participate in daily Stand-up meetings at the beginning of shifts.
  • Assist in keeping morale high and a positive environment within our kitchen.
  • Excellent product knowledge and ongoing education (i.e. ingredients allergens seasonal menu new menu items).
  • Accurately manage the daily work volume and then coordinate tasks by priority in order to accomplish designated workload within shifts timeframe.
  • Problem solve/troubleshoot immediate and necessary inventory issues/shortages and communication of those issues to Inventory Manager.
  • Oversees recipe implementation and ensures quality is per FDB/company standards.
  • Prepare bake and fry an array of bakery items.
  • Glaze infuse and decorate an assortment of pastries.
  • Tag organize and correctly designate trays/racks for various locations.
  • Responsible for Quality Control of all outgoing products.
  • Utilize core values for necessary decision making and on-site troubleshooting.
  • Ability to handle minor mechanical malfunctions.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization for the entire work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • MUST BE 18 or older to apply.
  • High School diploma or the equivalency of.
  • Preferred knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Preferred experience in the bakery/food industry.
  • Comfortable with physically strenuous and repetitive tasks.
  • Must possess a positive mindset be flexible and a team player.
  • Preferred leadership/management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think ahead.
  • Basic knowledge of and adherence to health code practices.
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk for 4-6 hour increments.
  • Ability to bend squat use a ladder and lift frequently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to have fun in a fast paced environment!

Hourly Rate with Tipshare: $21.00- $23.00 per hour (base wage differential tip share that seasonally varies).
