Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Traffic Engineer/Project Manager to join our transportation team in Nashville TN. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior program managers project managers and engineers to lead the delivery for programs and projects across the Southeast.
This is a hybrid position candidates local to Nashville TN preferred. Candidates will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule but will be required to attend internal and external client meetings in person at client site and in office as needed.
The Traffic Engineer/PM will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change urbanization and digitization trends are requiring todays mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the worlds growing population. We design connected sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
As a client-facing engineer and project manager in traffic engineering your role would involve a range of responsibilities focused on improving safety and operations. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior program managers project managers and engineers to lead the delivery for programs and projects across the Southeast.
Additional responsibilities included but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage scope schedule and budget for projects and programs.
- Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management.
- Present technical results and recommendations to clients.
- Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts including survey roadway design and environmental to successfully deliver client projects.
- Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans.
- Utilize knowledge and experience conducting and documenting traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practice.
- Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others.
- Support the project team in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs signing and marking designs conceptual designs for intersections and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
- Under leadership of senior program managers coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present analysis results.
- Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Ability to obtain TN PE within one 2 months of hire
- Must possess a U.S. Drivers License
- Experience with Traffic Analysis and Engineering principles
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: TDOT design standards ITS design traffic operations studies intersection conceptual drafting or safety studies
- Experience/familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Transportation Engineering preferred not required
- Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
- Experience with TDOT or NDOT clients and projects
- Experience in operational and/or safety analysis preferred
- Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including VISSIM Sidra Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS preferred not required
- Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE MUTCD AASHTO and state DOT requirements policies manuals and procedures preferred

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $70800.00 - $120000.00. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
