Purpose of the Position
The Network Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of companys wireless network by installing administering and troubleshooting all network equipment inclusive of LAN and wireless systems. This role evaluates the wireless network system workflow looking for glitches or disturbances; analyzes technical issues; and develops solutions. The Network Specialist will provide assistance to the IT Specialists in support of our customers and end users as applicable.
Essential Job Functions include the following but are not limited to:
General Duties:
- Install configure and troubleshoot wireless network problems and enhance performance for users via performance tuning.
- Evaluate LAN and wireless network for optimized performance and maintain consistent network builds and standards enforcing best practices.
- Analyze network data to determine network usage and bandwidth utilization.
- Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking components or equipment.
- Utilize documentation record keeping skills to create and maintain up to date standard policies and procedures for all wireless networks.
- Create or update technical documentation for network installations or changes to existing installations.
- Stay current with the applicable product lines and available technologies test proof of concept technologies and make recommendations for the organization.
- Conducts relevant training sessions and provides helpful references and support to prepare users to utilize the network safely.
Network Administration
- Wireless network device deployment and lifecycle maintenance.
- Basic level knowledge of device configurations.
- Maintain consistent secure and reliable configurations.
- Maintain and monitor effective and efficient use of LAN and Wireless resources.
In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies procedures and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
Physical Activities: The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
Requirements
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 Years of related experience in an enterprise IT environment.
Education:
- Associates degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications a plus: CCST Networking CWTS
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks; act independently.
- Willing to support/work off hours and weekends and travel internationally.
- Willingness ability to take initiative and the desire to continually take on additional responsibilities.
Salary range for this position is $66930 - $83660 annually d.o.e.
