Location: Tallahassee FL Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099) Position: Onsite No Remote Work Allowed.
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to support and expand our enterprise infrastructure with a focus on server administration cloud platform management (Azure) network performance and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the security availability and performance of systems supporting mission-critical applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams including internal departments vendors and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance FDOTs server and network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure operations.
Coordinate configuration deployment and maintenance of servers with internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor system and application health using best practices and tools to ensure uptime and performance.
Perform server and software upgrades patching and recommend technology improvements.
Analyze and troubleshoot network performance issues (availability throughput latency) and implement solutions.
Administer and secure Windows Server environments (2012 R).
Manage IIS configurations and web application deployments.
Configure and support file sharing (Samba/CIFS) and NTFS permission management.
Design deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure; experience with AWS or GCP is a plus.
Create and maintain Azure DevOps projects repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
Oversee organizational and project-level settings in Azure DevOps.
Support and manage Microsoft 365 services Power Platform environments and automation capabilities.
Evaluate existing infrastructure solutions for performance cost efficiency and scalability.
Collaborate with IT staff and developers to support infrastructure needs across development and production environments.
Provide guidance on middleware systems including API management and IT service automation tools.
Other duties as assigned to support overall IT operations and modernization efforts.
Required Skills
58 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
35 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure/network environments focusing on systems operations support and administration.
Experience supporting middleware platforms API gateways batch processing tools and IT service automation.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP DNS file sharing protocols and network security principles.
Proven expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012 R2 through 2022).
23 years of experience in IIS administration and managing web-based services.
23 years of professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud environment; Azure certifications are a plus.
Familiarity with other cloud service providers such as AWS or Google Cloud is highly desirable.
Experience managing and configuring Microsoft 365 Azure DevOps and Power Platform environments.
Excellent troubleshooting skills attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder expectations in a matrixed organization.

Communication & Knowledge Sharing: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate and share technical knowledge across teams.
Agility & Multitasking: Capable of switching between tasks and subjects in fast-paced complex environments while maintaining focus and quality.
Research & Data-Driven Decisions: Experienced in research data analysis and strategic planning to support continuous improvement and business innovation.
