Were starting by radically improving the $90 billion pet food industry replacing bags of highly-processed pellets with a personalized subscription service that sends complete and balanced freshly-made dog food directly to customers doors. What We Stand For and Where Youll Come In

As a Learning Designer you make a colossal impact on our L&D strategy at The Farmers Dog. Reporting to the Learning Design Manager you are delegated projects focused on improving learning outcomes to ensure our Customer Experience associates are providing a world-class customer experience. You use your experience and passion to understand our learners work with cross functional stakeholders and design highly engaging and impactful learning experiences. You find ways to make learning fun and use that thought to either lead or participate in a training project for CX. You will work alongside amazing peers who will provide feedback and expect feedback in return so we can continuously improve. You thrive in ambiguity and find a way through producing deliverables you are proud of!

One Team: We dont think of ourselves as Acquisition Marketers Engineers Data Analysts or Product Managers. Beyond denoting skill sets and areas of expertise we dont think departments matter. Wed rather align ourselves to the goals were working to achieve and make sure we have necessary subject matter expertise to drive meaningful impact. We strive to orient ourselves around customer problems TOGETHER getting the right people with the right context in the right rooms/Zooms to solve problems holistically.

We are skeptical about everything and precious about nothing: Ideas can and should come from anywhere and we arent tied to our proactively source talk to our customers and leads regularly and are quick to change course if we know theres a better or more impactful way to solve problems.

We consider the customer journey in all of our decisions: We know that no interaction exists in a silo and therefore understand how important every single one is. We ensure our strategy sets prospective and new customers up for success and drives long-term retention. We answer questions and address problems early and proactively. We understand the value of different channels initiatives and messages and know how to articulate impact and advocate for prioritization holistically.

We Execute For Impact: We dont subscribe to best practices or industry KPIs. Were uninterested in how we compare to benchmarks; instead we orient ourselves around being the best we can possibly be. Similarly we dont subscribe to rigid or classical expectations of roles i.e. acquisition is hyper-focused on improving customer retention and experience.

We Are Focused and Work Without Assumption: We are not beholden to ideas. We have goals and believe everything beyond that is a series of hypotheses to validate. To that end we seek to work in sequence and not in parallel. We constantly ask ourselves whats the most important hypothesis I should be working on right now How do I confirm or reject that hypothesis as fast as possible. We rarely have timelines/deadlines and are constantly taking in new information and adjusting our priorities accordingly. We dont expect to be perfect the first time.

How Youll Make An Impact

  • Develop highly engaging and interactive learning solutions to increase efficacy of our learning program
  • Apply world-class graphic design and learning design practices into varying mediums (synchronous classroom style virtual instructor-led asynchronous e-learning videos games infographics certification assessments UI walk-throughs etc.) for various topics across New Hire Training and Continuing Education
  • Work in a small team environment to design develop and build blended learning experiences
  • Be an expert in ADDIE and use that expertise to lead and/or participate in sprints to create impactful learning experiences
  • Apply industry leading topics such as Adult Learning Principles ADDIE ROPES Behavioral Learning Objectives Mayers Principles of Multimedia Learning Blooms Taxonomy and The Kirkpatrick Model of Training Evaluation to create world-class experiential learning
  • Lead a SCRUM based workflow and manage partners to deliver top-notch holistic learning experiences
  • Present and defend design recommendations to partners stakeholders and senior leadership for review feedback and approval
  • Partner with other departments and attends relevant meetings to maintain/update learning materials to ensure our associates receive the most current and accurate information
  • Review learning metrics compares these to learning objectives and iteratively improves deliverables based on performance
  • Find ways to innovate improve and inspire our learning program
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in learning design
  • Contribute to strategies to provide a comprehensive learning experience that meets the continual learning needs and expectations of our associates
  • Be agile and willing to temporarily flex to other areas of the business to support initiatives and help swarm to be apart of the solution

Were Excited About You Because

  • Have a deep understanding of good learning design and what makes good learning experiences
  • Have experience using Lessonly IORAD Articulate 360 any LMS Guru etc.
  • Are able to thrive in ambiguous situations & find clarity
  • Have a keen eye for visual learning opportunities
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Are effective at time management
  • Are detail-oriented and thorough
  • Have experience with coaching and mentoring peers
  • Have 2 years of experience in a Training Role
  • Have 1 years of experience specifically in Learning Design
  • Willing to travel domestically
