The Department of Management and Organization (M&O) in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University seeks an Instructor of Management to start in the Fall of 2026.

Instructors in the Smeal College of Business are hired on multi-year contracts (following a probationary period) are expected to teach 21 credits per academic year (or its equivalent) and are eligible for promotion (ranks of Instructor Assistant Teaching Professor Associate Teaching Professor and Teaching Professor or Professor of Practice).

Job Requirement: Instructors in the Smeal College of Business have a primary focus on teaching and contributing to the teaching mission of the school by bringing business knowledge experiences and perspectives to the classroom and by advancing the goal of student-centeredness. A successful teaching record is therefore required. Classes may be a mixture of undergraduate and/or graduate level courses. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who will enjoy working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative departmental environment. The position is an ideal appointment for individuals wishing to concentrate on:

  • teaching courses in management in a business setting

  • performing related activities such as mentoring and advising students

Our department offers two undergraduate majors (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Management) two online masters programs (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Strategic Management and Executive Leadership) a PhD program courses in Smeals full-time MBA and DBA programs courses in Smeals part-time hMBA and operates the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (which includes the Garber Venture Capital Fund).
