Denials and Appeals Specialist
Ridgeland Mississippi

Mid South Rehab Services Inc. Ridgeland Mississippi is hiring a Denials and Appeals Specialist to join our Compliance/Health Information Management position is full-time Monday-Friday in our Ridgeland office. This is not a remote position.

Mid South is a therapy company with strategic partnerships in AlabamaArkansas Tennessee and our home state of Mississippi. We provide physical occupational and speech therapists to a variety ofhealthcarefacilities. Our therapists specialize in audiology therapist placement services Alzheimers care transitional care management and rehabilitation management contract services. Mid Souths network of strategic partners consists of acute and sub-acute rehabilitation services.

The Denials and Appeals Specialist will have the following primary responsibilities:

1. Review and analyze denied claims: Examine denied claims to identify the reason for denial and determine the best course of action for appeal.
2. Prepare and submit appeals: Develop and submit appeals to payers including Medicare Medicaid and private insurance companies to contest denied claims when warranted or provide education to staff regarding denial when unable to appeal.
3. Communicate with payers and facilities: Correspond with payers and facilities to gather information and resolve issues.
4. Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed records of denied claims appeals and correspondence with payers and facilities using the Net Health Appeals Module.
5. Stay current on regulatory changes: Monitor and comply with changing regulations and guidelines related to appeals and denials.
6. Conduct research and analysis: Research and analyze denied claims to identify trends and areas for improvement for staff education or potential workflow changes.
7. Provide education and training: Educate and train staff on appeals and denials trends as well as regulatory changes.
