Job Description

Technical Specialist I - DSBN


Location: West Palm Beach Florida
Contract Duration: 12 months

Overview of the Role:
Under general supervision provides project management and design services for distribution facilities as required. Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Acts as a single point of contact for projects in the areas service territory. Makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods.

Responsible for proactive and reactive communication pertaining to project scope until customer is ultimately satisfied. Must be highly knowledgeable and proficient in the design of the Distribution System both in new construction and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work order assessments and complete complex designs to meet customer needs
  • Coordinate planning organization and implementation of engineering projects
  • Produce resource estimates including man-hours materials and work type requirements
  • Evaluate distribution system capability to serve new loads while mitigating future impacts
  • Provide cost-effective design solutions considering customer impact and requests
  • Manage all aspects of engineering design permitting and project execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish customer requirements and project costs

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience in Distribution/Utility operations
  • Strong customer interaction and negotiation skills
  • Electric Power Technology Certification
  • Advanced integrity compliance and professional skills
  • Proven analysis problem-solving and project management abilities
  • Storm duty availability and flexible schedule capability
