Certified Foot Care Nurse (CFCN) certification is a requirement for the positionBCLS and ACLS requiredThis is an outpatient and inpatient procedural area focusing on Interventional Pulmonology. Specialized bronchoscopy and lung procedures such as thoracentesis chest tube insertion/removal pleuroscopy plerux catheter placements performed. Moderate Sedation is administered in this area by trained Nursing staff. Disease states: chronic lung diseases lung cancer autoimmune disorders - 1:4Avg. Daily Census: 10Visits/Day: 5Rooms: 3Beds: 6Rotating 8 hour shiftsTuesdays are typically low census days due to our providers having clinic. Work 1000-1830 on Tuesdays due to clinic. Rest of the week typically work 730-1600 or float within service lineSpecial Procedures/Unit Details: Pre and post care of Interventional Pulmonology patients who have undergone invasive bronchoscopy EBUS thoracoscopy navigational bronchoscopy pleural procedures moderate sedation ultrasound plerux/aspira catheters thoracentesis some travel cases to floors and Equipment: Cardiac monitoring transcutaneous CO2 and ACLS requiredModerate Sedation Recovery requiredConscious sedation and Tele preferred5 years procedural and/or critical care PACU requiredWill not accept first time travelersThere are days when census may be low due to providers at conferences and/or out of town. These days are not known in advance staff can work in other ambulatory areas. There are days that staff are required to stay past scheduled time to recover patients. Temp staff may be trained to work in procedure rooms if needed due to long term shortages assisting with procedures and or giving sedation ( when properly trained).
