Abouttherole/Experiencerequired:
Responsible to provide engineering support to allow the delivery and sustainment of network solutions being delivered by the project in support of Air Traffic Management capabilities. This role includes the development of detailed designs the physical and logical deployments of network solutions network testing and development of engineering artefacts to gain site design accreditation. As part of a team the network engineer will provide ongoing support to changes and incidents across the network solutions deployed by the Project.
Keydutiesandresponsibilities
- DevelopanddeliverSiteSpecificDesigns(SSD)andTechnicalImplementationInstructions(TII);
- Assistwithequipmentstagingandinitialconfiguration;
- DeployactiveICTequipmentincludingrack/stackandconfiguration;
- DevelopdocumentationandconductPhysicalConfigurationAudits(PCA);
- ConductFunctionalConfigurationAudits(FCA);
- Maintainconfigurationmanagementofdesignartefacts;
- ProvidetechnicalsupporttotheAIR5431testingprogram;
- Provideaccurateandtimelyreviewoftechnicaldocumentation;
- DevelopEngineeringartefactsasdirectedbytheEngineeringManager;
- Maintaintechnicalexpertiseforbothdataandvoicenetworkcapabilities;and
- Provideoperationalsupporttodeployedprojectnetworks.
Thesuccessfulcandidatehasexperiencewith:
- SolidunderstandingoftheDefenceTerrestrialCommunicationsNetworkingenvironment;
- Securitymindedapproachtodesignconcepts;
- SolidunderstandingoftheInformationSecurityManual(ISM);
- RecentexperiencewiththeDefenceChangeProcess;
- WideAreaNetwork(WAN)knowledgeandLAN/WANintegrationexpertise;
- Abilitytoworkinateamenvironmentwithactiveparticipationinprojectmeetingsandengagewithbothinternalandexternalstakeholders;
- Effectiveplannerwithefficienttimemanagementskills;
- Strongcustomerfocus;
- Abilitytoconductresearchaswellasrapidlylearnnewconceptsandtaskswithaviewofimprovingtechnicalknowledgeandskills;and
- Aboveaveragetroubleshootingskills.
EducationandExperience:
- 3yearsminimumnetworkexperience;
- TechnicalexperiencewithCiscoandJuniperRouters/Switches;
- CandidateswithsignificantDefenceexperiencewillbeheldinhighregard;and
