Overview
Full or Part Time Psychiatrist
Blue Ridge Recovery Center an Acadia Healthcare facility is a 54 bed residential alcohol and drug detox and substance misuse treatment center offering rehabilitation programs for alcohol heroin opiate and prescription drug addiction. Blue Ridge is located on 50 acres in Ball Ground Georgia just an hour north of Atlanta.
We provide compassionate expert care meeting men and women 18 wherever they may be in their recovery process from addiction. Our intimate setting allows us to provide tailored focused treatment with individual small group and family-inclusive treatment. Our goal is to work with our residents to teach them the skills needed for sustaining long-term recovery.
The levels of care we provide at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center include the following:
- Drug & Alcohol Detoxification Program
- Residential Treatment Program
- Family Program
- Relapse Recovery Program
- Continuing Care
Overview:
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy) psychoanalysis hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities
Summary:
- Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations as well as by corporate facility policy or procedures.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Treat or direct treatment of patients utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans documents services and information in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years post graduate degree practice preferred.
- Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Board certification in psychiatry
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
