Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal DevOps Architect to lead the design implementation and optimization of scalable secure and automated DevOps platforms. In this strategic role you will define DevOps architecture standards drive CI/CD maturity lead cloud-native infrastructure solutions and serve as a technical advisor across development operations and security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and Design: Define and evolve the enterprise DevOps architecture and roadmap aligned with engineering and business goals.
- Automation Leadership: Drive end-to-end automation including CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configuration management monitoring and alerting.
- Cloud Strategy: Lead the design and optimization of scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Security & Compliance: Integrate DevSecOps practices into pipelines; ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with engineering QA SRE and security teams. Mentor DevOps engineers and promote best practices across teams.
- Toolchain Governance: Evaluate and standardize DevOps toolsets (Terraform Jenkins ArgoCD GitHub Actions Docker Kubernetes etc.)
- Observability: Define architecture for logging monitoring and tracing systems (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK Datadog).
- Cost Optimization: Design for cost-efficient cloud resource utilization and support FinOps initiatives.
- Disaster Recovery & Resilience: Establish DR strategies backup policies and fault-tolerant system architectures.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in DevOps Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud Architecture.
- Proven expertise in architecting and implementing DevOps solutions at scale.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins GitLab CI GitHub Actions ArgoCD etc.
- Strong experience with IaC using Terraform CloudFormation or Pulumi.
- Deep understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes EKS AKS GKE).
- Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Python Bash Go).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS Azure or GCP (certifications preferred).
- Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability tools.
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with service mesh (Istio Linkerd) and Kubernetes networking/security.
- Background in microservices serverless architecture or edge computing.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security models and secrets management (Vault AWS Secrets Manager).
- Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA PCI-DSS SOC 2).
