We are seeking two skilled and certified Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technicians to support the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS). As part of the Cardiology Division you will play a vital role in performing a wide range of non-invasive diagnostic procedures including resting ECGs ambulatory monitoring and exercise stress testing. You will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure accurate diagnostics and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ECGs exercise stress tests and ambulatory monitoring for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Operate and maintain ECG equipment; troubleshoot and report issues to Biomedical Engineering.
- Evaluate test results and communicate abnormalities to physicians.
- Monitor patient vitals and ensure safety during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records in CPRS VISTA and MUSE systems.
- Schedule patients manage inventory and support administrative tasks.
- Provide excellent patient care and customer service in line with patient-centered care principles.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
- Includes two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute meal break
- Federal holidays observed
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Experience with ECG lead placement stress testing and ambulatory monitoring
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ECG equipment operation
- Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies and arrhythmias
- Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
