Description
Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire aSurgical Clinical Assistant based in ourChalfont PA office! This position is designed to support one of our Joints Surgeons and will require travel to our office in Willow Grove PA. The Surgical Clinical Assistant provides professional nursing care to patients under the supervision of their assigned attending physician. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with flexibility
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
- Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.
- Maintains order cleanliness and inventory in the exam room and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
- Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
- Provides and scans proper paperwork to the chart for Physicians review.
- Records vitals as per Physicians request.
- Prepares injections for the Physician.
- Pulls up x-rays MRIs CTs and various studies pertaining to the patients exam.
- Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
- Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
- Answers telephones in patient areas and provides voicemail coverage for Physician.
- Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians.
- Empties and restocks laundry.
- Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
- Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports dictations and studies are present in the chart.
- Completes pre-certifications for MRIs and other Physician orders as necessary.
- Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative.
- Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders prescriptions etc. on the date of service).
- Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
- Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Must have active valid clinical certification/licensure.
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
- Computer skills including but not limited to MS Office
- Experience with EMR system(s)preferred
