The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation chaired by Dr. Heakyung Kim provides services at Parkland Memorial Hospital Clements University Hospital and their affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with residents fellows and medical students in one of the largest PM&R training programs in the U.S. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Role Responsibilities and Duties:
The ideal candidate will provide high quality comprehensive clinical care to inpatients and outpatients as assigned. Teaching responsibilities will include medical students PM&R residents and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in various multidisciplinary conferences. Research will vary depending on the candidates interest.

The ideal candidate will be an integral part of one of the nations largest and most prestigious PM&R training programs where they will mentor and engage with residents fellows and medical students. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of the program while directly impacting both the educational development of future healthcare professionals and the clinical care provided to patients.
Clinically the candidate will be responsible for assessing and addressing the physical and functional needs of individuals dealing with disabilities or chronic health conditions. They will help patients manage pain improve mobility and restore function. This involves creating and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each patients unique needs and abilities.
In addition in this role you will work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including psychologists physical therapists occupational therapists and social workers to ensure comprehensive care and promote the patients maximum independence. The candidate must demonstrate strong diagnostic skills empathy and the ability to guide patients toward achieving both physical recovery and overall well-being.
