General Manager Electrical District No. 2 The Board of Directors of Electrical District No. 2 (ED2) seeks a leader with a strong power supply understanding and team building skills to become the next General Manager (GM) due to the planned retirement of its current GM. About Electrical District No. 2
ED2 is a publicly owned electric power provider that was created under Arizona law for the purpose of bringing power to rural areas of Pinal County Arizona. Established in 1923 ED2 was the first of its kind predating the creation of all other electrical districts in Arizona.
The service area of ED2 includes the greater Casa Grande Valley including in and around the cities of Coolidge Florence and Casa Grande. ED2 provides electric service at competitive rates and remains committed to its statutory mandate to preserve the economic viability of irrigated agricultural lands within Pinal County. The area served by ED2 encompasses over 120000 acres and traditionally included irrigated farmland farm residences farm businesses dairies and cotton gins. Growth spreading south from the Phoenix metropolitan area is now impacting ED2 with large commercial shopping areas and residential subdivisions being developed. Today ED serves nearly 6300 customers. As a publicly owned utility ED2 is committed to its customers and the communities it serves.
With annual revenue exceeding $31 million net plant approaching $122 million and over 400 miles of distribution line ED2 is financially strong and continues to invest in its electric distribution facilities. To operate its electric system and meet the needs of its customers ED2 employs 34 full-time employees.
ED2 is responsible for its own power supply and aggressively pursues economically viable options. Its current resource mix includes federal hydropower from Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Storage Project participation in a natural gas fueled combined cycle plant participation in a solar project and market energy purchases.
The GM of ED2 provides leadership advice and assistance to the Board of Directors concerning industry changes strategic planning business objectives and policy needs that will support ED2s mission and values while providing effective guidelines for business operations now and in the future. The GM is responsible for creating an environment that encourages teambuilding and a cohesive work environment between the Board management and employees. Additionally the GM directs ED2s day-to-day operations and activities ensuring that the business of ED2 is conducted in accordance with statutory obligations and ED2s bylaws policies strategic plans and business objectives.

Experience and Expertise
A Bachelors Degree is required.
An advanced degree such as an MBA or graduation from an advanced management or leadership program is a plus.
Education or Experience in Accounting & Finance Engineering or Business is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience is preferred.
At least 5 years of electric utility experience is required.
CEO or GM experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of regional issues related to ED2s power supply is valuable.

The ED2 headquarters is located east of the community of Casa Grande and south of the community of Coolidge. Both Casa Grande with a population over 60000 and Coolidge with a population over 13000 provide excellent housing opportunities for ED2 employees.
