The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Enterprise Services Research Center or BBN team:
The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts the necessary equipment and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC is focusing on the research development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.
The Principal Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer will be challenged with solving unique and interesting problems to enable new commercial aerospace and defense products.
What You Will Do
Lead process development activity to improve print capability increase speed reduce cost and enhance material performance in support of advanced RTX Business Unit product initiatives
Drive AM Qualification efforts utilizing IQ OQ and MQ with a strong collaborative RTX Business Unit cross functional team
Develop and utilize advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space
Collaborate with government industry academic and RTX Business Unit partners to develop whitepapers project concepts and responsive proposals
Conduct RCCA activities on build failures machine or process issues or product performance gaps
Work with cross-functional teams including materials design simulation operations and characterization engineers to support and improve the full value stream
Support RTX Business Units by providing process expertise and best practices
Qualifications You Must Have
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Demonstrated expertise in Additive Manufacturing tools and processes
Scripting experience with Matlab Python VBA JavaScript or similar
Experience with software and tools used in Additive Manufacturing including CAD packages
Experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipment
Working understanding of AM machine sensors and control systems
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Preferred candidates for this position will have a PhD in Mechanical Chemical Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field.
Strong presentation planning problem solving organizational and project management skills.
The preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles and hands on experience working with laboratory equipment.
Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
