Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments in accordance with established protocols.

Diagnose and manage acute orthopedic conditions providing prompt care for injuries such as fractures sprains and dislocations.

Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and medical staff to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Perform procedures such as joint injections aspirating effusions and applying casts or splints as necessary.

Educate patients and their families about orthopedic conditions treatment options and rehabilitation protocols.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters treatments and follow-up care in the electronic health record system.

Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing patient care and service delivery within the orthopedic department.

To achieve a great work-life balance consider a schedule with 3-4 day work weeks followed by occasional weekends.

Requirements and Qualifications

Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.

Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice.

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic urgent care or a related field preferred.

Strong clinical skills and ability to perform orthopedic assessments and procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach to care.

Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and manage high patient volumes under pressure.
