AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems are at heart of ensuring that we can provide our customers with the right computing services in the right region at the right time! The SCM team is responsible for building supply chain execution management and tracking systems that enable control of our global footprint for our hyper-growth cloud and automate the orchestration required to ensure physical and financial control of inventory.
We are looking for an experienced technical manager who is excited about building industry leading distributed systems in the Supply Chain domain. You will be part of the team that architects designs and implements highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability scalability and latency guarantees. This is a hands on technology position. You need to not only be a top software manager with a good track record of delivering but also excel in communication leadership and customer focus. This is an unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape the cloud SCM technology product and business. A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise and ability to work within a fast moving startup environment in a large company to deliver solid code that has a broad business impact.

As a technical leader on the team you will be responsible guiding your team through the design development testing and deployment of a range of products. In addition you will help build the roadmaps for software teams developing innovative experiences.

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced multi-disciplined distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
