Job Description
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- maintaining the operating system installation of varied Linux servers throughout multiple HPC clusters
- operation of Ethernet networks
- bug hunting and fixing often in collaboration with vendor companies
- certified transparent processes
Basic Qualifications:
- university degree (master or above) in computer science mathematics or natural sciences with a background in high-performance computing
- knowledge and experience in the system administration of Linux servers including security considerations and hardening
- knowledge about compiled programming languages (e.g. C C)
- knowledge about scripted programming languages (e.g. Shell Python)
- ability to work in both modes autonomously as well as in a team
- excellent German and English in writing and speaking
- You like to share experiences and put procedures to the test in order to improve them with the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- experience with Linux operating systems and in particular with the distributions
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
- debian
- experience in the installation and operation of Linux clusters with cluster-management tools like confluent

Although mobile working is possible in principle (up to 60% of work time) working in the office is preferred
