4- 10 hr shifts variable days
The Staff Radiologic Technologist Specialist performs departmental and portable radiographic examinations assists the Radiologist or Surgeon in a highly technical and professional manner during procedures produces high quality images. Serves the following age specific patient populations: pediatrics adolescents adults and geriatrics
1. Uses two patient identifiers
2. Compares doctors order to requisition for accuracy
3. Performs the correct exam
4. Includes all anatomy required to produce an adequate exam.
5. Demonstrates continued competency in using PACS
6. Routinely demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload.
7. Coordinates multiple exams into the proper sequence to ensure no conflicts of exams.
8. Assesses the doctors order and the patients diagnosis to determine optimal images.
9. Assesses patients condition comfort and safety during procedures.
10. Observes and reports to physician any change in patients condition during the procedure.
11. Communicates accurate patient information in a timely manner to peers physicians and other departments.
12. Uses all diagnostic computer and communication equipment within safe limits.
13. Other duties as assigned by management.
14. Proficient at running C-Arm for complicated orthopedic and neuro surgery cases.
15. Proficient at running the O-Arm for Neuro and Spine surgeries.
16. Proficient with workflow in the OR. Able to carry the main surgery pager to organize and prioritize staff responses to surgery cases.
17. Willing and able to train other radiologic technologist staff as needed to operate C-Arm and O-Arm for complicated orthopedic cases.
High School graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
For currently employed student technologists within 60 days of graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Registered/registry eligible
Must be registered within 1 year of hiring
