Job Description
This role is for a Patient Care Technician in an acute care hospital setting. The position requires experience in an operating room (OR) environment and involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The successful candidate will assist with patient care maintain equipment and perform clerical duties. Prior OR experience is required and CNA certification is preferred.
- Obtaining and recording vital signs weights and specimens.
- Assisting with patient positioning skin care and hygiene.
- Preparing patients for procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
- Performing basic patient care procedures (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry).
- Assisting in emergency situations.
- Performing clerical duties such as answering phones and documenting patient care.
- Coordinating equipment and supply needs.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
- Current BLS certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (CNA preferred).
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- The manager may consider a CNA with relevant OR experience.
- No on-call requirements.
- No floating between units.
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at the managers discretion.
