Duties:
- Assessing planning implementing and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals. Serving as a liaison between the patient and the medical team.
- Preparing patients for a procedure.
- Starting intravenous fluids to inject special dyes or contrast mediums into patients.
- Administering barium enemas or solutions before procedures.
- Monitoring a patients vital signs or their status during procedures to identify changes.
- Identifying unexpected reactions in patients during procedures.
- Administering analgesia and sedating patients upon instruction.
- Updating the medical staff on a patients status.-Reassessing patients after procedures.
Skills:
- Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg Radiology experience in a large acute care hospital setting.
- The most recent experience should be within the past year.
- Qualified candidates demonstrate proficiency with skills including: -Physical assessment.-Medication administration.-Wound care & Infection control.-IV therapy.-Post-operative care.-Patient education.-Telemetry monitoring.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Education:
- Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute.
- Self-Assessment Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam for Med/Surg.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State RN License & Primary Source Verification.
- AHA BLS.
- AHA ACLS.
