Job Description

Job Goal: Prepare and serve meals

Qualifications:

  1. 3 years of experience in related field preferred
  2. High school diploma or GED preferred

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: CNP Manager

Background Check Required: (Ala. Code 16-22A-5) Upon offer of employment employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks may not be more than ten (10) years old.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to follow and adjust a standardized recipe for school population.
  2. Ability to use Microsoft Office Programs such as Word and Excel.
  3. Ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted and capable of completing other physical activities such as; squatting kneeling stooping etc.
  4. Knowledge of basic math skills to accurately complete cash collection summary.
  5. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast paced highly intensive work environment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Accurately coordinate and conduct advance payments.
  2. Maintain a current student data base including a master roster of free and reduced-price meal applicants and ensure it is accurately up to date.
  3. Collect breakfast and lunch money according to the established policies and procedures.
  4. Complete the daily cash collection summary and perform the day end procedure.
  5. Accept responsibility for cash security daily and during emergency procedures in the event of computer malfunction or power failure.
  6. Maintain records as needed for accountability.
  7. Maintains a proper and professional relationship with students faculty co-workers and other employees and visitors.
  8. Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of any school related business.
  10. Complete other functions such as but not limited to:
    1. Cooking cleaning inventory records
    2. Other related duties assigned by CNP manager and/or principal.
  11. The job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job goals qualifications or responsibilities. The successful candidate may be required to perform other related duties as assigned. The Madison City Board of Education reserves the right to amend the job description as needed.
  • This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
  • Under the Students First Act of 2011 no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.

Expected Employment: 187 days/ 6 hrs. (full year)

Evaluation:According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.

SalaryRange: According to Madison City Schools Salary Schedule (Salary based on employment for complete year).

Up to 10 years experience will be counted for new employees who provide documentation of full-time experience in the area of concentration.
