Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate reliable and motivated Weekend Overnight Youth Advocate to support young people residing in our community-based program. This role provides a safe stable and supportive environment during overnight hours and plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being and security of our youth.


The Youth Advocate is responsible for maintaining a positive trauma-informed atmosphere assisting with crisis intervention as needed and helping residents follow house guidelines and routines. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates passionate about youth development behavioral health or human services who are available to work Friday and Saturday overnights.


What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth:

  • Provide overnight supervision and support for youth ages 12-18 years old.
  • Monitor resident safety and conduct routine wellness checks throughout the shift.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or behavioral issues.
  • Document all shift activities incidents and resident interactions accurately and in a timely manner.


This role does not qualify for health and wellness benefits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
  • Residential experience preferred
  • Experience with systems (e.g. DMH DCF) preferred
  • Additional languages desirable though not required
  • Able to learn carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions and de-escalation techniques
  • Able to learn carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid
