HR Manager Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing various aspects of human resources practices and processes. This includes recruitment onboarding training and development and ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations. The HR Manager plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and supporting the organizations goals and objectives through effective HR strategies. This position will be the steward of our employees journey from sourcing to separations and will orchestrate seamless experiences at every stage ensuring engagement satisfaction and retention. Please note: While Gunnison is headquartered in Atlanta GA this recruitment is for our sister company Townsend Tree Service based in Muncie IN. The individual hired for this role will be expected to report to the Townsend corporate office located at 1015 W Jackson St Muncie IN.
Duties/ Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Administration and Leadership
    • Develop and implement HR strategies encompassing the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment to separation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and business goals.
    • Partner with HR team members to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies throughout the employee lifecycle.
    • Implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Training and Development
    • Design and implement training and development programs to enhance the skills and performance of direct reports.
    • Provide guidance and support for career development and progression opportunities.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate constructive feedback sessions.
  • Recruitment and Staffing
    • Manage recruitment efforts including sourcing candidates conducting interviews and overseeing the selection process to ensure the organization attracts top talent.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Onboarding and Induction
    • Design and implement onboarding programs to welcome new employees and foster a positive first impression.
    • Create onboarding materials and resources including welcome kits training materials and online portals to facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Termination and Separation
    • Supervise employee separations with sensitivity and professionalism conduct exit interviews and ensuring smooth offboarding processes.
    • Direct offboarding tasks including collecting company property deactivating access to systems and facilities and processing final payments.
  • Professional Development
    • Remaining updated on industry trends best practices innovative technologies and compliance trends.
    • Monitoring changes in laws regulations and industry standards relevant to the companys risk management human resources safety and training and legal departments.
    • Suggesting and executing alterations to internal company procedures as required.
  • Supervising and assisting with various projects as required.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders alike.
  • Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or a related field; OR
  • Associates Degree with five (5) years of demonstrated work experience in a supervisory capacity in HR.
  • Proven experience in HR roles with a focus on employee lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Meet all physical requirements of the position.
  • Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and if applicable required by DOT regulations.
  • 18 years of age or older or 21 if CDL is required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
