JOB SUMMARY: Sets up operates and adjusts Mills to perform a wide variety of machining operations involving unique jobs difficult set-ups and tight tolerances. This is for a Machinist looking to build on their skills to set up machine using knowledge of job requirements and materials used to enter control panel settings for tool travel axis movement and tool speeds. He/she will also create and edit new programs using CAM GIBBS G/M codes. This position has room to grow into an Advanced Machinist I level.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine complex parts for unique jobs which have multiple physical and/or quality features high scrap risk and understand how those features impact the customer.
Operate complex machine technologies or have expert knowledge in a specific technology.
Use of CAM packages and GIBBS G/M code programming to improve or adjust existing complex programs and create new programs as needed.
Monitor machine performance to ensure that product quality and specifications are achieved.
Set up future jobs while machines are operating.
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments templates and fixtures.
Independently and efficiently implement ideas for improvement.
Provide ongoing mentorship and training to fellow employees.
Must contribute to Wilson Tools culture of continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or AAS degree in the machine trades
G/M Code CAD/CAM Machinist Math GD&T Inspection methods.
Ongoing training in relevant technologies is highly recommended.
Minimum of five years of relevant machining experience.
Demonstrated success using technical math skills such as Algebra Geometry and Trigonometry in all applications.
Must have the ability to create programs and set up multiple styles ofmachines. Demonstrated skill using G/M Code programming and proficient in 1 or more CAM packages.
Demonstrated ability to accurately use advanced measuring tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft office typing 10 key and internet navigation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Inside manufacturing environment.
WORK SCHEDULE 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm)
COMPENSATION Machinist ($28- $37 per hour) plus shift premium $1.00 for 2nd shift.
