About the Role
The XR industry is rapidly evolving from an enterprise perspective as organisations and functions across all sectors increasingly adopt the technology. One of the key responsibilities of the PwC Emerging Technologies team is to realise the value of immersive technology for their business.
PwC are seeking an XR Developer who excels in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders can navigate complex corporate environments by aligning with risk data privacy and compliance standards and is able to balance innovation with responsible tech development including documentation and security.
As an XR Developer you will help bring cutting-edge ideas to life by designing and developing prototype experiences across Apple Vision Pro Meta Quest and other XR-capable platforms. Your work will support client innovation by delivering immersive proofs-of-concept on head-mounted displays mobile devices and more. This is a highly collaborative and exploratory role at the intersection of applied R&D rapid prototyping and emerging tech strategy.
Due to the fast-paced and diverse nature of this technology an inquisitive and experimental mindset is a must to explore the full potential of XR and adjacent technologies such as eye tracking and haptics. You may also have to adapt to different development tools and devices depending on the requirements of each project.
What your days will look like:
Design and develop interactive XR prototypes using Unity or Unreal Engine.
Build and optimise immersive experiences using platform-specific SDKs (e.g. Apple RealityKit/ARKit Meta SDKs such as Interaction SDK or Eye Tracking).
Work closely with designers researchers and client-facing teams to align technical solutions with user needs and business goals.
Rapidly iterate on ideas while maintaining clean well-documented and testable code.
Explore and integrate adjacent XR capabilities such as hand tracking eye tracking passthrough and haptics.
Stay current with XR platform updates and hardware advancements from Apple Meta and beyond.
Represents the team in external forums and client showcases to highlight the potential of XR technology.
The role is for you if have;
Solid grasp of 3D transformation mathematics and coregraphics programming.
Proficiency in Unity or Unreal Engine.
Strong coding skills in C# (Unity) and/or Swift (visionOS/RealityKit).
Understanding of time complexity; crucial to low latency XR applications.
Experience building and deploying applications for Apple Vision Pro using visionOS and for Meta Quest using relevant SDKs.
Competence with source control tools like Git and GitHub.
Experience estimating project timelines and defining technical approaches.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for XR applications.
Familiarity with 3D printing fabrication or digital twin workflows.
Exposure to WebXR WebGPU or cross-platform XR toolkits.
Background in usability testing or accessibility for spatial applications
