The Service & Team:

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for young children and families Would you like to be part of a forward thinking and innovative service focussing on supporting children under 5 and their families with a focus on the first 1001 critical daysDo you have a level 3 NVQ qualification related to health and child development or equivalent and experience in working with families

If you can answer yes! Then we want to hear from you by applying for the latest Foundations for Life practitioner role.

Giving children the best start in life is a fundamental part of improving health development and reducing inequalities. Supporting parents to improve childrens speech language and communication skills as well as their personal social and emotional development will help children to develop well and to have secure relationships with their care givers.

The Role:

This is an integral prevention and early intervention role based in the Best Start Community Health Service within Together for Families. The role is to support the Parent Infant Relationship by working alongside the Health Visiting Service delivering evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for young children. To work collaboratively to prevent emerging needs from developing further through the use early interventions for young children aged pre-birth to 5 years and their families.

We have a 4 day part time post within Cornwall covering the Mid / East Area

You will be working in a supportive team and working with families in their homes early years settings nurseries and Family Hubs. You will deliver practical early support to improve outcomes for young children for example supporting parents in play child development and baby massage.

You will be working under the support of other professionals such as Health Visitors Early Years workers Educational Psychologists in the Childrens Health and Wellbeing Directorate across Together for Families.

You will be trained to deliver evidence-based interventions that are proven to help children and families reach their full potential.

Successful outcomes will be that children and families are helped to develop well have healthy parent infant relationships and children are ready to learn and play with their peers at 2 with an improved uptake of 2-year-old early years funded nursery places.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

What youll need to succeed:

You will need NNEB/HND/BTEC or GNVQ (to level 3) related to health and child development.

Experience of working in the community and with vulnerable families

Experience of running groups and health promotion activities.
