Job Description

As an Instructor Therapist you will be implementing intensive behaviour intervention (IBI) based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA). You will be required to work with individuals with autism between the ages of 3-18 years of age either one- on- one or in a group setting. You will be responsible for delivering direct service preparing teaching materials monitoring the learners progress through data collection participating in treatment planning attending weekly team meetings and liaising with parents. The Instructor Therapist provide direct intensive behavioural intervention service to children in a variety of settings. The also record chart and evaluate data to allow the childs progress to be monitored on a consistent and regular basis. In addition they will responsible for writing and implementing behaviour protocols progress notes and reports.

What must you have

  • A degree in psychology or a related field or a diploma in a behavioural science program would be an asset.
  • Candidates must be willing to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program.
  • Candidate must have a valid Ontario drivers license a vehicle and be willing to travel throughout York Region and Simcoe County.

What else do you bring

  • One to two years of IBI experience would be an asset.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and
  • inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Healths

  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.

Preferably your profile also includes:

  • The ability to fluently speak French language an asset.
