Job Description
The Lawrenceville School announces an opening for a Part-Time French teacher. We are seeking an enthusiastic collegial individual who wants to work with other highly motivated faculty and students in a collaborative diverse and inclusive boarding school environment. The Lawrenceville Language Department supports students as they become citizens of the global community: the curriculum is designed to develop capacities to understand other cultures and peoples through the beauty and power of their languages.
Typical responsibilities include the following:
- Teach two to three sections per trimester.
- Bachelors degree in French with the ability to teach French.
- Ability to teach all levels introductory to honors (college-level).
- Demonstrated success planning and facilitating collaborative student-centered classes.
- At least two years of high school teaching experience.
- A passion for teaching the French language.
- A passion for working with high school-age students.
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication (oral and written) abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed and appropriate.
- Demonstrated success with the effective incorporation of technology in the learning process including language labs.
- Proficient computer skills including familiarity with Google suite and Microsoft Office suite.
