POSITION SUMMARY
The Prime Technician will prepare each apparatus for paint. They will prepare and clean the cab apply primer coat and sand the cab for paint. Also they will complete tasks in each position within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All employees are required to support Rosenbauers Mission Vision and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
- Sand and prep cab to be primed (sand mask off clean with wax/grease remover and remove dust with tack cloth).
- Mix and spray primer on cab using a pressure pot.
- Inspect cab for defects.
- Sand primer to prepare for paint.
- Seam seal required areas.
- Inspect cab and document in build book to ensure cab is ready for paint.
- Maintain booth and equipment.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associate degree in autobody preferred.
- 2 years of experience in autobody preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills:
Language:
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally in a team environment.
Math:
- Able to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers fractions and decimals.
Computer:
- Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process.
A
Abilities:
- Able to identify quality issues recognize changes within the production process and adjust as needed.
- Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
