Job Description

Secretary to the Asst. Principal - High School - Level 3 secretarial position Unit DREPORT TO: Assistant Principal Head SecretaryJOB MISSION: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the schools main office in order to achieve the maximum positive impact on the education of RESPONSIBILITIES: primary support to the Assistant Clerical dutiesa.(typing filing correspondence) lists: Detention Internal/External Suspension of information/data as the direction of the Assistant Principal oversee operation of the main office and prioritizes reception duties in a professional courteous and efficient manner. Follows office protocols. Admits greets and directs visitors. Enforce visitor policy by monitoring and provides information by relevant methods to parents students staff and other stake announcementsPrepare press releases (specific announcements honor roll etc.)Compile and distribute paperwork needed for back to school night parent conferences with the compilation of materials needed for school start/close of and distribute mailAssists with the preparation of parent updates and organizes information relevant to schools and Phone systemLocks and lockersMaintain Teacher schedules and duty rosters making adjustments/updates to them when and organizes all activities concerning the Awards AssemblyOrganizes meetingsCollects and collate and communicate with awards for presentationOrders materials neededPrepares Award Ceremony to include presentation of awards (Awards Book) parent invitations set-up of gymnasium in the high schools Crisis Management TeamAttends and participate at meetingsActs as scribe for the Assistant Principal in the administration of MCASCreates proctoring schedules classroom listsOrganizes tests for distributionAssists with the collection and packaging of the testsKeeps tests and testing materials the bookkeeper/secretary with the collection of funds and information when support to other offices/staff when Student Office if necessaryCovers dismissals board when necessaryAssists other departments in projects as time duties and responsibilities reasonably related to his/her function as assigned.
