$44000.00 AnnualThe primary purpose of Academic Advising is to support and guide students throughout their academic journey. Academic Advisors play a crucial role in enhancing student success and ensuring a positive and productive educational experience.
This Academic Advisor position supports students pursuing pre-health and prospective nursing majors under the supervision of Student Success Advising designated for Brooks College of Health (BCH) majors.
Job Function:
Academic Advisors serve as a resource to all prospective and current students within the College (undergraduate and post-baccalaureate).Academic advisors are required to be familiar with overall Department of Education and Board of Trustees policies and procedures that govern the matriculation process (e.g. general education Gordon Rule transfer admissions requirements registration processes class scheduling graduation etc.)as well as appropriate student referral sources (e.g. academic support services career services) to facilitate student success. Academic Advisors perform the following duties:

Departmental Requirements
The Academic Advisor position requires exceptional self-motivation and interpersonal skills. Must possess a professional demeanor and be receptive to change as the university and department grows. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
Required Qualifications:
A Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.
