SUMMARY: The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for company compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements. This role is responsible for monitoring driver logs maintaining vehicle records reviewing Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) reports and supporting transportation safety initiatives and training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Monitor and enforce DOT regulations including hours of service driver qualifications and vehicle maintenance.
  • Manage driver qualification files vehicle maintenance records DVIRs and other required documentation.
  • Monitor driver training on safety procedures DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with investigating and documenting DOT incidents accidents and violations.
  • Provide guidance and support to drivers and other stakeholders on DOT compliance matters.
  • Communicate any issues to the Logistic Manager.
  • Prepare reports on compliance status incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Stay abreast of changes in DOT regulations and ensure the companys policies and procedures are up to date.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in DOT compliance transportation or logistics preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT recordkeeping guidelines preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for computer work and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
