SCHEDULE
Full Time
To be effective an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
- Underwrites and structures less complex SBA loans including SBA 7(a) Express and 504 Loan Programs; prepares credit presentations documenting credit analyses and recommendation for credit decision to approving authority.
- Prepares timely concise and accurate credit recommendations with supervision. Includes: (1) quantitative components within the underwriting narrative; (2) accurate use of risk rating scoring matrix both quantitative and qualitative rating elements to ensure loans are properly risk-rated; and (3) accurate identification and mitigation of risk including all policy exceptions procedures and compliance regulations.
- Has a general understanding of SBA eligibility and underwriting processes per the SBAs Standard Operating Procedures and MACU standards.
- Understands and demonstrates a high level of written communication relating to credit memos addendums memorandums and all forms of written communication.
- Analyzes repayment ability including business and personal cash flow.
- Performs financial ratio analysis comparative to industry standards.
- Performs financial stress testing analysis.
- Reviews and interprets personal and business credit reports.
- Prepares commitment letters.
- Reviews professional commercial real estate appraisals and associated third party reviews; completed internal reviews.
- Reviews professional environmental reports and assesses risk.
- Performs internal real estate equipment and business valuations.
- Analyzes commercial leases.
- Reviews loan closing requirements.
- Ensures regular communication through the origination process with loan officers loan closers management and members.
- Provides superior customer service both internally and externally with regard to SBA loan programs.
- Is able to manage up to five loan files at a given time.
- Works together with all teams to accomplish monthly quarterly and annual goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES

Experience
Two years underwriting experience in a progressive financial setting or two years in SBA Lending operational experience preferably both.
Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in business finance economics or related field. Education will be verified. An additional 3 years of experience in a progressive financial setting may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Licenses Certifications Registrations
Must qualify for access to SBA systems and not be listed on any SAM search or SBA debarment lists.
Managerial Responsibility
Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook Word and Excel.
- Experience with financial reporting or tax analysis software preferred.
- Experience with SBA eTran preferred.
- Experience with Symitar preferred.
Language Skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas methodology results and recommendations verbally in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations.
- Demonstrated ability to present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.
- Strong writing and grammatical skills relating to preparing credit memos addendums memorandums and all forms of written communication.
