FACULTY POSITION
emlyon business schoolinvites applications for afull-time faculty positioninInnovation open at the Assistant/ Associate level to begin inSeptember 2026.
We are looking to recruiteither:
- A candidate with astrong academic research profile in Innovation and Innovation Management capable of publishing in top-tier journals and contributing to the schools international research visibility;
or - A candidate with astrong pedagogical profile experienced inaction learningexperiential education andreal-world project-based teaching;
or - Ahybrid profiledemonstrating excellence in both dimensions.
This position is part of emlyons broader strategic ambition to combineacademic excellencewithimpactful hands-on learningthat is deeply connected to the business world and societal challenges.
YOUR ROLE AT EMLYON
The selected candidate will be attached and collaborate with our existing team of professors and researchers in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and in the InvEnt Research Centre ( to grow and extend our research and teaching in Innovation and Innovation Management. We embrace different research approaches and methods with a keen focus on quality in research. The Entrepreneurship and Innovation department is home to 28 scholars with diverse backgrounds and interests in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The department aims at high quality research as reflected in its publication record in A-level journals (e.g. ETP JBV SEJ JMS JoM SMJ Research Policy). Tight connections with different kinds of organizations provide opportunities for research and engaged scholarship.
He/She will contributing to:
- Cutting-edge research in their area of expertise;
- The development and delivery ofinnovative action-based learning experiences closely tied to the professional ecosystem (corporates startups NGOs etc.).
Teaching opportunities will be mostly at the undergraduate level (BBA) graduate level (Programme Grande Ecole) and the masters level. Responsibilities for this position include capabilities to design and manage courses in the areas of Management of Technology and Innovation Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Sustainable Business.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate (BBA) graduate (Programme Grande cole) and masters level programs.
Most courses will be taught on theLyon campus with possible sessions on other emlyon campuses in France or internationally.

- Ph.D. inInnovation Entrepreneurshipor a related discipline
- Proven publication record (or high potential) in top-tier journals (e.g. FT list)
- Ability to supervise doctoral students and collaborate on funded research projects
- Interest in pedagogical innovation and contribution to program development
2. Teaching-Oriented Profile
- Experience inproject-based pedagogy live business cases corporate challenges or learning-by-doing models
- Strong connections with business or institutional partners
- Ability to design and coordinate courses with a high level of engagement and applied learning
- Willingness to contribute to the strategic positioning of action learning within the school
3. Hybrid Profile
- Balanced expertise in both research and pedagogical innovation
- Ability to create synergies between research teaching and practice
- Interest in making academic knowledge actionable in the classroom and beyond
Additional Requirements
- Desire to work in a collaborative international environment
- Capacity for institutional service (program management curriculum design external representation)
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of French is a plus but not mandatory
- Willingness to relocate toLyon or surrounding area(relocation support provided)
The candidate will be expected to contribute to and will be regularly evaluated based on three areas of activities: (1) research performance (2) teaching and student supervision and (3) institutional service (e.g. administration service in committees representation of the school in the media and events).
