Duties:
Prepare statistical reports on employee pay commissions and bonuses; vacation sick
disability and workers compensation leave; taxes withholding etc.
Oversee the distribution of paychecks or arranges direct deposit programs.
Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws
Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
Assist with general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts
Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information
Stay updated on federal state and local tax regulations and ensure compliance
File sort and organize and maintain general and confidential employee files.
Perform daily payroll department operational tasks.
Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with multi-state payroll system
preferred
Detail oriented and effective communicator leading the payroll department
Expert time management problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Previous experience as a Payroll Supervisor or similar role
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
Experience answering queries and fixing payroll issues
Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements
Proficiency in using payroll software and systems
Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues or discrepancies
Ability to function well under pressure and handle confidential information with
discretion.
