5 STAR Event Services is looking for fun and safety people to join our uniformed security guards to join our uniformed security team at HyattRegency Houston Downtownfor permanent PART TIME hourly employment.
Description:Uniformed Security Officers are responsible for the safety and comfort of all clients guests and other employees.
Pay Range: Pay starts at $14.00/hr. and $16.00/hr. with CPR certification
Duties:
- Monitor entry exit and event perimetersto prevent unauthorized access
- Assist in crowd control and enforce safety policies during events
- Conduct routine patrols of the event space and hotel grounds
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies disturbances or incidents
- Provide courteous assistance and directions to guest and staff
- Complete incident reports and maintain detail logs as needed
- Collaborate with hotel security front desk and event coordinators
Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable forms of communication and transportation
- First Aid/ CPRcertified (CPR training can be provided)
- LEVEL 2 SECURITY LICENSE(Level II Training & Exam provided for free. All applicants are required to apply pass exam submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check.)
Skills and Abilities:
- A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearance
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to understand and interpret credentials documents signs rules policies and instructions
- The ability to communicate effectively with clients patrons and other employees
- The ability to multi-task cross-train and learn new skills quickly
- The ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situations
Physical Requirements:
- Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk stoop kneel crouch hear see and speak English clearly
- The ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (shift duration)
- The ability to lift 25lbs.
Work Environment:
- Team members are expected to maintain a neat appearance wear proper uniforms and interact with guests and staff in a respectful and polished manner
- Team members are courteous and professional at all times especially during large scale or VIP events.
- An energetic and fast-paced environment
- Crowds (as in lots of people)
- Evening and weekend work schedules. Many events take place in the evenings and on the weekends. Flexible availability is required.
