Salary Schedule: MEA Bachelor& Master Base & TRI 2016-2017 Schedules at Summary:
The School Physical Therapist (PT)shall provide therapy/interventions as prescribed in accordance with districtand professional standards. This PT willmaintain records and documentation as set forth in the Individual EducationProgram (IEP) and is subject to ongoing student progress monitoring.
MinimumQualifications:
- Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) withSchool Physical Therapist endorsement required
- Washington State license as Physical Therapist maintainedfor duration of job required
- Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills
- Successful experience atappropriate grade level preferred
- Experience and/or trainingwith cultural ethnic and language diversity preferred
DesiredSkills:
- Ability to identify students withphysical disability motor deficit movement dysfunction and/or developmentaldelay
- Ability to communicate and assistschool personnel public agencies and parents relative to disability
- Knowledge of implementing physicaltherapy services in keeping with district and state guidelines
- Knowledge of an ability in processingtherapy programs as prescribed by state law and consistent with district policy
- Knowledgeof student evaluation processes and procedures
Essential Job Functions:
This list of essential job functions is notexhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment theemployee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Provide physical therapy services forstudents with identified physical disability motor deficit movementdysfunction and/or developmental delay which interferes with learning in theeducational environment
- Program planning for physical therapyor appropriate options for each Individualized Education Program (IEP) as amember of the Multidisciplinary Educational Team (MDT)
- Treatment and management of thedisability based upon results of evaluation which may include direct and/orindirect therapy services
- Consultation and education on a formaland informal level with medical and educational professionalsparaprofessionals and parents regarding educational programming and disabilityinformation
- Administration of physical therapyservices within the educational environment (documentation record keepingequipment space requirements supervision of classroom and physical therapyassistants)
- Responsible for and monitor of theproper fit use and adjustment of specialized equipment
- Research and evaluation for school physicaltherapy services
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite andregular work hours
- Professionallyinteract with students staff and public
- Establish andmaintain professional contacts with students
- Comply with all district policies and procedures
- Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct
- Performrelated duties as assigned
