An exciting opportunity is available for a committed and enthusiastic Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the expanding Safeguards Team in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. Already established in Penrith the Safeguards Team is expanding to provide care to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region.
The Psychiatrist will provide medical leadership to this senior team which prides itself on the provision of innovative collaborative and best practice time-limited care to children and young people aged 0-17 years who are experiencing acute mental distress. This role provides an opportunity to make a valuable impact to the community which includes a significant Aboriginal population.
The Psychiatrist will work closely with the Teams Clinical Lead in building partnerships to ensure seamless provision of care for this population and will be actively involved in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care.
The Safeguards Team is part of the well-established interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream with the portfolio including Child and Youth Mental Health Teams Whole Family Team and Perinatal Infant Mental Health Team. The new Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit is currently being built and will open later in 2025.
