You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOperate Horizontal Boring Machines (manual or CNC-controlled) to perform precise machining operations such as drilling boring milling and facing.
Interpret and understand technical drawings blueprints and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Set up workpieces and fixtures on the machine table ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping.
Adjust cutting parameters (speed feed depth) based on material and tooling requirements.
Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as micrometers bore gauges and dial indicators to maintain accuracy.
Modify tools offsets and programs as necessary to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Document production logs inspection reports and any deviations encountered during machining.
Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Machining or a related technical trade.
Proven experience operating Horizontal Boring Machines in a production or job-shop environment.
Familiarity with machining of large parts or components used in industries such as oil & gas marine defense or heavy machinery.
Strong understanding of machining principles and cutting tools.
Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
Experience with precision measuring tools and instruments.
Familiarity with different materials including cast iron stainless steel and alloy steels.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming is an added advantage.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
