Job Description

Responsible for properly performing the administrative and data entry duties necessary to correctly create entries to the general ledger assist with the accounts payable function assist with the payroll function and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all-inclusive for this position)

  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the Internal
  • Must adhere to guest service standards by providing excellent guest
  • Compiles and maintains vouchers purchase orders and receivers for all payable
  • Assists the Accounts Payable Department in investigating any questionable invoices and follows up with the vendors and/or departments. This includes working with vendors service providers and departments to reconcile all documents.
  • Assists the Accounts Payable Department in preparing all invoices for payment; open date stamp and distribute incoming mail; prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms; review vendor contracts/agreements to verify the accuracy of invoices coding to enter to the general ledger.
  • Assists the Payroll Department in compiling and posting data related to hours worked paid time off benefits gratuities and direct deposits into the payroll software program.
  • Assists the Payroll Department in the necessary research to resolve payroll disputes and payroll errors.
  • Assists the Payroll Department in the timely processing of enrollment forms.
  • Assists the Controller and the Staff Accountant in the month-end process.
  • Must be proactive and identify problems solutions concerns and follow-up with the Controller and/or Director of Finance.
  • Held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Assist in the Audit Process
  • Verify the accuracy of billing data and resolve
  • Computes credit terms discounts shipment charges and rates for goods and services
  • Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Must have the ability to:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have High school diploma or
  • College accounting courses preferred.
  • At least two (2) years experience in accounts payable or accounting; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Basic software knowledge particularly in communications software including Outlook Excel and Word is required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to work independently and use good
  • Good communication skills both oral and written are required.
  • Good math skills
  • Must be able to perform general clerical duties such as operating printers copiers and postage machines.

While performing the duties of this job the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. You may be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment.

This position is performed in an office setting.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming
  • Attending required training sessions offered by the
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances regulations laws policies and procedures relating to the team members department.
  • Have full knowledge of Title 31 rules and regulations as it relates to the accounting
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of
