Job Description

We are a streetwear label committedto combating youth homelessness.

Were passionate about what we do but well try and keep the sales pitch brief. 100% of our profits go towards achieving our mission to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

We run programs to equip young people with the skills confidence and experiences to be more work-ready and better prepared for their futures. So far weve supported over 3700 young people through our programs. Were proud of what weve achieved so far but were equally excited about whats still to come.

What began as a pop-up in Melbourne Central in 2016 soon evolved into the opening of our flagship store on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. Now were proud to return to where it all started with the expansion of our impact programs and the launch of our second official store in Melbournes CBD. Our retail team continues to bring our mission to life one customer at a time.

THE GIG

Were on the hunt for not one but multiple Retail Assistants to join our team as we expand into our new exciting modern CBD location with roles available at both our Fitzroy and CBD store.

The nuts and bolts:

  1. Sales hit sales targets to fund our incredible programs
  2. Advocacy sharing the HoMie mission with every customer who walks through the door
  3. Training using your retail expertise to support young people with on-the-job training
  4. No set days but can expect 1-3 shifts per week
  5. Retail Award Level 3 pay rate

You care about social issues and streetwear fashion but the bottom line is youre an experienced retailer who is in it for the team the customers and the community. You align with our mission and you can speak to the elements of exceptional customer service.

  • You are available at weekends and looking for 1-3 shifts per week

ABOUT OUR SPACES

Our stores are our main source of income and where we foster a community that helps young people feel safe and welcome this is your chance to use your experience to increase sales so we can keep powering our impact-driven programs.

Youll call either our shiny new CBD store home OR our Fitzroy flagship home. We are looking for a flexible team player who is happy to enjoy a change of scenery and a chance to soak up the vibes on both sides of town by occasionally working across both stores as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrated ability to hit sales targets
  • Passionate about fashion retail community and all that HoMie does
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and sensitively to young people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds
  • Tell us which store location (CBD or Fitzroy) youd prefer to be based at and why
  • Being multilingual is a big plus especially if you speak Mandarin
